PU faculty member wins HEC NRPU funding
LAHORE: (Friday, October 17, 2025): Punjab University’s School of Biochemistry and Biotechnology Assistant Professor, Dr Hafiz Muzzammel Rehman, has achieved a significant national milestone by securing research funding under the Higher Education Commission’s National Research Program for Universities (NRPU). According to details, the HEC received over thousands of research project proposals from public and private universities across Pakistan, out of which a very few projects were approved. Among these, three projects belong to PU, with Dr Hafiz Muzzammel Rehman serving as Principal Investigator in one project and Collaborator in another. This achievement not only reflects the academic excellence of the School of Biochemistry and Biotechnology but also underscores PU’s growing prominence and commitment to advancing research and innovation. It is noteworthy that Dr Hafiz Muzzammel Rehman also received the largest research grant awarded within PU for the year 2025.
